Range of motion
Beyond its lightness, one of the Black’s strengths is the freedom of movement it gives your ankle, letting you drive your foot farther with no resistance.

Customize your Black
On your Gignoux Black, match the liners to your use:
- Race bikini liner (low cuff)
- Black liner (high cuff)
Choose the Race bikini liner to save weight (-50 g) and boost performance. Choose the Black liner for more comfort and warmth.
If needed, you can also configure your boots with a slightly wider shell or a snugger liner to reduce rubbing and the feeling of pressure on your heels.
If you want to use the Black for training and a few races, go for the Race liner and its collar foam.
Reduces rubbing, lightens the boot.
If your use is more touring, touring light, the Black liner is the one you need.
More comfort, more warmth, possible to add an insole.
Gaiter
One of the Black’s key assets is its gaiter, letting you ski in any snow while keeping your feet dry.
Black sole
The Black sole lets you handle approaches on any terrain. It’s overmolded onto the carbon shell to prevent delamination.
ILS lacing.
Ergonomic fit.
The ILS lacing system, developed in-house for carbon boots, has already proven itself on our previous carbon models. Its design delivers a firm, precise hold. The system’s adaptability to your foot shape brings great comfort.
Low-Tech insert
Nothing beats low-tech bindings for ski touring. That’s why all our boots are low-tech compatible. The front insert on Gignoux boots also has a bevel to make stepping in easier; the rear insert is designed to take most semi-automatic crampons.
Carbon molding
Each part is made from ultra-high-performance carbon in our workshop in France. Special care goes into laying the different fiber layers to optimize the weight/strength/stiffness ratio.
